These companies often hold the key to energy efficiency adoption in each state because they have incentive monies allocated to programs. These utility incentive and utility rebate programs are generally aimed at providing relief to aging infrastructure at a lower cost than it would be to replace the infrastructure.
Utility rebates can be flat amounts or they can be a percentage of the overall cost of the project. The rebates generally expire and need to be renewed after one to three years or upon depletion of the utility rebate funds.
