your demand charges. If you can lower your peak usage your demand charges will also adjust down.
There are several ways to lower peaks in usage. Some companies participate in demand response, shutting down or throttling energy usage down during surges (ie., hot summer days). This allows a company to lower its Peak Load Consideration (PLC).
Another way to peak shave is by using onsite battery storage and solar.
When using on-site storage you charge your batteries when electricity prices are low during the off peak hours. Then you can discharge your batteries when pricing is high. Unlike the previous method, using solar and batteries will accomplish the same thing without interrupting your business operations.
