Description

Background

Since the first Madison Square Garden (MSG) opened in 1879, the arena has served as the capital for sporting and entertainment events in New York City. By partnering with Brightcore, MSG was able to upgrade their locker room, training room, and weight room lighting systems to a quality deserved by “The World’s Most Famous Arena.”

Although MSG had previously converted to LEDs, they were not satisfied with them aesthetically or functionally. Specifically, the Rangers and Knicks were looking for a lighting system that allowed them to manually adjust for brightness and color.

Solution

To meet these needs, Brightcore Energy provided them with a dimmable LED integrated fixture from Lithonia.

  • Simple payback of 4.8 years

  • Average useful life of 20+ years

  • Net energy costs savings of $1k per year (replaced LEDs)

  • Aesthetic control goals achieved
